In this four part series, David Starkey will show how the monarchy has shaped the history of British music in ways we can hear to this day, demonstrating how much British history is preserved within some of this nation’s best-loved tunes. And while exploring what the monarchy has done for music, he’ll also show what music has done for the monarchy, and how musicians have helped define and perpetuate the distinctive royal identity of these isles.
